Re: Oh this is depressing
AT, Maybe if you took me up on my offer to showcase some ships by pasting them on some nice backgrounds it would help generate some interest.
I made Thread called "Attention Shipset Builders" but got very little response.
I for one would love to see some of your ships rendered larger and at different angles to make some very interesting montages. (ie: A nice big Colony ship heading away from the cam towards a perfect huge Rcok/Oxygen planet.)
I'm sure that Fyron wouldn't mind hosting the pics in the Image Gallery over at SE.net.

Re: Oh this is depressing
Could someone fill me in on Neostandard? What it is, how to "patch" to it, etc.

Re: Oh this is depressing
Iron ginat: Click the banner in my sig down there, then find your way to the neostandard section. All the information you need is there.
You don't need to "patch" anything to benefit from the neostandard, you just need some mods and some shipsets that use them. however you might want to download and install the neoexpansion pack, which is also on my site.
Any questions, just ask.
BTW, be aware that my website will soon be moving. When it does I'll make sure there are redirection pages in place.

Rollo's devnull mod is a good way to discover neostandard shipsets... (there are many other mods that use it, of course)
Can't remember if his mod actually includes neostandards images...
Pirates & Nomads also use neostandard pics, but it can only be played with human players.

Well spotted Shang. That was a test, of course, just to make sure you're all paying attention...

Oh I will take you up on this David, however I am far too lazy to do it at the moment.

Re: Oh this is depressing
As computer engineer and part time web designer myself I would like to point out few things of that site. With all respect to web designer, this is meant for friendly advice.
That site hurt my eyes. I looked it about 5 seconds and I had no will to look it any longer. The colors of the text are too bright for the black background.
For example look at this forum. Light brown background and black text. I can read this forum for hours and my eyes are not tiring. Use colors, which are not contradictory. Pastel colors are excellent in this. Here is few combinations you could try (do not use bright colors unless you want to make something to be especially seen):
Light brown background and black text (like in this forum).
Light blue and beige.
Green background and black text.
If you insiste black background, use light brown font and make it bigger. Usually, the darker the background, the bigger the font. Also if you want to make something to be noticed, normal red test is perfect in that.

Re: Oh this is depressing
Atro, it is slightly OT maybe, but do you plan any latest gold patch related updates on astmod? If so, what is the approx. ETA?
Appreciate it.
