The other cat sits in the window and looks up at the arriving birds. However, this cat prefers the time of day when the sun shines through the window. She then sits and faces the wall, waiting to pounce on the bird shadows. After all, they're inside the room...

That is sooo uncanny. And here I thought one of our cats was weird! At night, when the streetlight shines through the faceted glass in the front door, it makes a sparkly design on the opposing wall. When we hear that "swoosh, plop, swoosh, plop", we know Taffy is jumping several feet into the air and sliding down the wall trying to get the sparkles! And don't EVEN get a flashlight out...or one of those laser pointers!

We have a flashlight toy that shines through a little pLastic globe filled with water and glitter, which makes swirling sparkles all over the walls of a dark room. The cat loves it, but there are so many, she just sits and her head shakes in all directions looking at them all.

Re: Cats, Computers, and SEIV
Atrocities, you may need a keyboard condom. Never know though, the pLastic may encourage the cat to use claws...
Keyboard condoms
I got one on my beloved ancient IBM 101. You know, a real keyboard, huge with keys that click, and doesn't have those annoying windows keys!
Good thing I don't have a cat that likes to jump on it

Hey, SP, has that been that way all this time and I didn't notice or did you just make an adjustment?

Re: Cats, Computers, and SEIV
My cat likes me to stop what I am doing, sit on the bed and pet him. If I am at the computer, and I don't get up he will start to jump up onto my lap. Unfortunatly he only gets half way. He then puts out his claws, right through my pants and into ME, and pulls himself up onto my lap.
Naturally, being the nice Cat Owned Person that I am I don't heave him accross the room, but spend the next several minuts moving the mouse with one hand and petting the cat with the other.
Once he has had enough he likes to knock things off my computer desk as he tries to make his way over to look out the window.
But I pay him back when I use the cat comb to get rid of his fur balls.
