It wasn't the patch. I have 1.30 loaded, and still have this "bug" appear if I use the modem and then play the game. So it may very well be a winmodem thing...

Actually
Yesterday my ships started moving from point A to point B so fast That I Thought that my intel 400 was for the first time in it's life running at super speed. I have the trace on and the sip movement turned on.
It was quite weird. Since my computer runs 18 hours a day and 3 people use it, I am not sure what was done before I got home. I will reboot the system this evening and see if the ships still move that fast.

Now I have got that problem also. What has changed ? I have upgraded the memory of my PC from 64MB to 192MB (400 Mhz). So I guess it has something to do with system performance.

Mottlee, do you run other background processes (like virus scanner, SETI)? Because it seems you don't always have the problem, maybe sometimes the PC is slowed down by other occupations of the computer.

This is not a big problem (for me), but maybe someone knows how to slow down the ship movement w/o loading several other programs in parallel ?

Hey, I guess I have had this problem from the begining. I though that was the speed they were suppose to run at, and it just slowed way down if i started the game without realizing my wife switched CD's. If it is related to system resources, I'm using a 650 Athalon with 256 Megs of ram. From the thread it looks as if the memory may be the anser to this though.

This happens to everybody. When it does on my P4, I lose track of some of my ships for a second. Actually I sort of like when it happens because the start of the turn does not take as long when you got 500 ships moving about.
