Question about TDM and PBW
I want to set up a game on PBW using the TDM modpack for some more challenging AI players. My question is do all the players need the TDM modpack installed in order to play? Or can they just use v1.91 standard and upload their turns and the PBW server can use v1.91 plus TDM 3.4 to process the turns?
Thanks!

All your players will need to have the same Version of the mod in order to play.

Re: Question about TDM and PBW
I was actually wondering about this, since TDM does *not* alter any of the data file, and merely adds shipsets and AI files, unless a small change sneaked in the 3.40 release, altering a line checked by the game or another. In this case, you would indeed need the mod to play your turns.
Bar such a possible chance, I would expect it to work, since the AI files should not be called on except during the turn generation. But don't quote me on that.

Re: Question about TDM and PBW
I think it makes a few minor changes in the settings.txt file re: unit and ship limits, that will probably require the players to use the same mod???

Re: Question about TDM and PBW
These two should be used at game start only (since it is a default setting), as afterwards they should be included in the game file and not called on by the game.
Edit: it seemed to work fine during a short test, and even the turn generation did not require the TDM files. (But I gather the default files were used as the game could not locate the improved AI files)

Re: Question about TDM and PBW
Thanks for the help. I'm going to try it and see if it works. If not, we will just restart with standard v1.91.

Re: Question about TDM and PBW
You need the files from the Data folder. The formations are changed and the games doesn't like the changes in the settings.txt.

Re: Question about TDM and PBW
Update:
The first two turns of our game have processed without a hitch with the server using TDM and all the players using v1.91 standard. It could hiccup when people start using formations I suppose, but it appears to be working fine so far.
