But don't worry about it, at least you have the guts to own up to this mistake, many people i know would hide in shame

You took a gamble, it never paid off. Of course, if you had just bought a new pc, if you could afford it, you might have attempted this in the future. You've gained Insight and Knowledge at the price of material wealth and some pride
