Re: Is anyone actually playing this vs actual people?
Hot seat is THE way to play. No more missle dance, no more bizzare tactics, no more single ship attacks. Anything you can do to the computer can be done to you!
All I can say Jason2 is find a player near you. You will be amazed how different the game plays.

PBEM games are ok too. Especially in simultanous mode. Turn around time can be in a day since everyone can gets their turns at the same time.

Re: Is anyone actually playing this vs actual people?
I'm in a PBEM game with 8 human players and 10 AI. 2 or 3 humans have dropped (not completely sure), one because he was virtually innihilated by an AI neighbour early in the game and the other two for real life reasons as far as I know. We're at turn 51 and 7 of the original AI players are dust bunnies by now. We're having a bLast!
I started out writing a game story as play progressed but real life forced me to drop that about 20 turns ago. Hopefully I'll have time soon to go back and fill it in after tje fact and pick up the thread where I left off.
Anyone else writing game stories?

Re: Is anyone actually playing this vs actual people?
Raynors answer.
Sorry for taking so long to answer your question.
Currently it is one turn per day Sun-Thurs.
Yes you can roll the turn over without someone the computer does there turn, don't know how well it does it.
Hot Seat maybe fun, but the e-mail can make for even more fun when you can discuss the turns for a day with you "Allies" and then act upon them.
The late night phone calls and urgent e-mails are fun to play with.
Also the long time between games are much more fun this way as it makes it feel that 1/10th of a year is occuring. You really tweek the turn every time to get the most out of it.
Maybe some one could set up a web page for people to start games against each other from across the world.
