David's image is now available on SE.net. Click Here.

Maybe later I will add some links here for a before and after image of
what I want which I am able to do manually with GIMP.

GP, can you not save the process in GIMP as an action, then use the batch process feature? Not sure what the functions are called in GIMP though; those are the Photoshop terms...

Ha Ha Fyron.
I was going to tell David to put his image up at your site so we wouldn't have to register at another site. You beat me to it I guess.

can't you set 0,0,0 as the transparent color? then treat the image and put back the white (turn off transparency)? It doesn't sound like a big problem. there are ways to do that in prety much any program. I haven't used gimp, but I would expect that you could at least turn white pixels transparent.
Oh well, if at first you don't succeed, try try again.
Cheers!
P.S. the treatments you talk about are a cinch in Artgem. Too bad it's no longer available.

With Bryce 5 and a little immagination. The aquatic plants and dolphins were free models from 3dcafe.com. The hardest part is getting the lighting and volumetric water to work togeather.
Cheers!
