Re: [OT] - Gig!
That's true, Dogs. Yes, true. But you show your age (smile). You know, he lives in the next state over and if he can JUST stop shooting at women...LOL.

Yeah? How old am I then? (No peeking at the "how old are you" thread...) Gotta be in your 40's. If you're younger than that, you also are open-minded enough to watch B&W movies, I'm guessing.
BTW, I need to look up one song of his that used to be the "wake-up" song on one of the radio channels here.

Re: [OT] - Gig!
You're way off Slynky but thanks, I'll take that as a compliment. You may now consult the other thread=-)
I don't watch B&W films much, but I appreciate their worth when I see them.
B&W films I like:
Way Out West
THe Ladykillers
B&W films that sucked (imho)
Brief encounter
uhh... I need to watch some more old films.

Re: [OT] - Gig!
There are a ton of great movies out there that are in b&w, but with today's generation of movie watchers used to the latest computerized special effects in color, I don't think that most of those old flicks hold much appeal to them. I still think most of them are worth watching, even the old outdated Harryhausen films with the stop-motion photography.

Re: [OT] - Gig!
preaching to the converted- SE4 players are ppl who appreciate quality gameplay over flashy graphics (not that there's anything necessarily wrong with flashy graphics) so it stands to reason they will be ppl who appreciate story/quality/comedy/content over special effects in films (not that special effects in films are necessarily a bad thing.)
The biggest problem with old films is the culture gap- old language, attitudes, ways of life- some of these things do not always translate well into the modern age.
