Re: New BSG series! 2005!!!
I was a fan of the original BSG series and I watched the remake and I've very impressed with Ron Moore's work with it.

Re: New BSG series! 2005!!!
Just noticed this for all You UK BSG Fans.
Today on Channel 5 a show called Galactica 1980 is on at 3:20pm. The description goes as follows.
"Made-for-tv where a bunch of spacefaring earthlings finally find the planet they've been searching for decades."

I'm know I'm too late for this, but the love of God, don't ever see Galactic 1980. That was the worse spin-off of any show ever created by man. The only original cast member was Lorne Greene, and he must have been on contract, because I don't think he ever looked too happy. Stick to the original, or for you younger generation, the new series.
Speaking of the new series, I liked it. Even though I had to get used to a female Starbuck, I thought it was a pretty good re-telling of the original saga. I noticed the cast was more PC; almost of the original male roles were recast as females. They still kept Apollo as Adama's son, but that was about it. Starbuck and Boomer were recast as females. No mention of an Adama daughter, either. I even liked Baltar, who was more of an accidental traitor than one who sold out the human race. Heck, if the Cylon's all looked like that girl, I'd turn traitor too. I knew a new series was coming out, I just didnt' know when. Can't wait to see it.

IIRC, in the new series, isn't Boomer a Cylon?

Yes, you found out right at the end of the movie/mini-series thing Well, it's not clear that THE Boomer is a cylon. What we saw at the very end was a cylon that looked like Boomer. It could have been a dopelganger that they plan on inserting into the Galactica crew at some point. It was quite a jaw-dropping cliff-hanger though.
