The reason the current god quit even though he liked the game, is that it was too many ships in his opinion to handle for him.
He didn't get his mail notifications from PBW about new turns and so sometimes had very short span to play and didn't want to ruin the good position for his minors by missing turns, and so resigned with sorrow.

So, it's too good an opportunity to pass up, grab it fast!!
