missing fleet bug??
Ok now this was really wierd. Was clicking on my planet that had a few ships and dividing them into fleets. Had them all set up when I noticed the # on the planet was 14, there were no where near that many ships in my fleets. Went to the fleet button, could not find them. Went to the Cargo transfer button and all of a sudden I had ships on the planet that I had moved out of the system turns ago, some had even been destroyed since then. I couldn't add them to my fleets but I could transfer fighters from these 'non-existant' carriers to my few cargo ships that were now on the planet. I saved and reloaded and suddenly the fleet that wasn't there was....
Any one else have wierd stuff like this happen? Didn't someone say they lost a fleet or two once? Could this be the same thing?

Re: missing fleet bug??
anyone?? Is this an official bug?? Should I email the save game file to MM? The ships are there but the only way to access them is thru the cargo transfer button, can't move them or nothin.

Re: missing fleet bug??
Actually these ships were not in a fleet. the fleet they were in was destroyed (most of the ships) turns ago. These ships just appeared out of nowhere. Here is the savegame if anyone is interested. Go to Rialt X planet, there are more ships listed than the ones seen when the planet is clicked on (ie 14 number on planet, but only 10 or 11 listed, ) can't find them in fleet button but suddenly can when using cargo transfer button (ie, 'mothership 001' and 'mothership 002' appear etc.) Don't know whats going on but I would like to know if my ships are disappearing etc without me noticing. Sometimes I lose track of things at 3 or 4am.

Re: missing fleet bug??
Did you build the "phantom ships" at that planet? Or did you just load up fighters there?
My guess is that the .gam file didn't clear everything when updating turns, and you didn't notice for a while. Not certain exactly how it would happen, since I don't know how the .gam file is generated, but this is a fairly common problem in programming. Back in my college days (the Last time I did any serious programming), I was always finding places where I'd forgotten to clear a register or reset a variable. I'd say definitely send a savegame to MM with a description of the bug. If you have a later turn where the "phantom ships" have completely disappeared, you might want to send that too...
