Knowing when an enemy enters a system
Is there a way to easily tell when an enemy
ship enters a system you control or have ships in? I would really love the mini-map to
have a blinking circle or something if there
was an enemy ship just so I can tell when stuff is coming at me. I really don't want to click on each of my systems each turn just to visually check.
Thanks!

Mine or use Sats at each of the warp points.
But yes I agree in advance (grin) that that is a lot of extra work.

Re: Knowing when an enemy enters a system
That is a good way to detect ships entering via warp points but how do you detect ships that enter via newly created warp points or detecting decloaking ships?

Re: Knowing when an enemy enters a system
Actually, the minimap has this function already. When another empire is in the system there's a small (very small) triangle in the circle of that system. Hard to see, but it's there.

Re: Knowing when an enemy enters a system
Actually the triangle is only there if you have vessels/planets in that system as well... I use a large sat with scanners & a cloaking device (very expensive) for monitoring my systems, but it works well in all non-nebula systems...

Re: Knowing when an enemy enters a system
I'd like to see Malfador enhance the notication window to include a message that an enemy or allie has entered such and such system with an option to turn the feature off or filter it.
Maybe it should only do it once when you first see a ship or fleet so that you only get the message once. This would probably be harder to program than just always giving the notification.

Re: Knowing when an enemy enters a system
Personally, I'd like to see a return to the SE3 way of displaying the 'system circle' in multiple colors based on who was in the system. To me, that was an elegant and simple way to display it that the player could see at a glance.

I agree, but in order for it to be truly effect with SE4's map, you would have to bring back the zoom functions as well. Right now the circles are too small to see all the different colors well.

Re: Knowing when an enemy enters a system
Yeah,
not the best solution at the moment.
àked myself several times, if it wouldn´t be better, to get a message, that enemy forces are in one of my claimed systems.
Would be very good to get a message - better to look for triangles or to check system by system- not to think about it, if the AI would be so smart to use warp-openers!!!
