We were promised a patch today.
I don't see it?

Nobody promised, they just said about the 18th...

Take heart in that at least you know they are working and testing one to make the game better, a lot of games are dumped onto the market with horrible engines and an overwhelming amount of errors rendering the software almost unplayable (morrowind)...

The only patch related question I really have though, is, does it make changes to the classes at all? ( am I going to have to start a new character to feel the full impact of the patch? )

To those who wish to "modify" the classes- go to the text labeled class.txt (or some other derivation)If you go down the list you can change the exp requirements, how many skill/char points you get, speed, spells the calss can use, and other assorted "stuff".

To reap the benefits of these changes, just export your original character and start a NEW game with the old character (revivie em). Your old character will now be subject to the new rules.

So if you drop the exp requirements, it is very EASY to reach 100 level of so....

I CANNOT PLAY THIS GAME BECAUSE IT CRASHES 5 MINUTES INTO THE GAME. THIS IS HOW CRAPPFULLY HORRIBLE IT IS. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I WANT A PATCH SO I CAN FINALLY PLAY PROPERLY?

There is a new beta patch out. That will fix some of the known problems and make the official patch a lot better. Certainly worth the wait of another week IMO.

PS: here are the deatils

Version 1.05:
1. Fixed - Fixed some problems the game was having under Windows XP.
2. Fixed - Pits on the Lair level of "Crack Of Doom" were not allowing
flying creatures and missiles to pass over them.
3. Changed - Decreased the chance to find Orbs.
4. Changed - Increased the chance to have magic and unique items in the stores.
5. Changed - Added Vials to the store in the Crack Of Doom.
6. Fixed - The scrolls for Dancing Lights and Detect Weakness had their pictures
swapped.
7. Fixed - Access Violation when you killed a monster as you died.
8. Fixed - Some monsters were unkillable because their total physical resistance
to damage went over 100%.
9. Fixed - All resistances have a maximum of 95% (for monsters as well).
10. Changed - Decreased monsters "Resist All" setting in Crack of Doom.

Just a little more patience. If the beta testers don't find an annoying new bug Aaron will release the patch to Shrapnel later this week so it should be available at the end of the week or at the start of the next. Only a few more days!
