That's the point. You can get Freelancer for less money at this very moment. Even Freelancer itself is being considered as old already.
You're also forgetting that Freelancer was made by a big company expecting to sell to millions of people. Malfador is a small company with basicly no advertising at all which is never going to sell to the same volume of gamers as a game made by a bigger company. As such the price would have to be higher in order to compensate for the lower number of buyers. It's simple Economics.
