Re: Does ANYONE\'s wife/girlfriend like SEIV?
My wife is into games like Age of Wonders, but not the space games. She says as long as I don't load a 'Space Empires Theme' onto the desktop she can deal with it...

Re: Does ANYONE\'s wife/girlfriend like SEIV?
Ummmm,.......NO! Anything that takes up time away from her, NOT. Luckily I work nights, she works days and we spend time together on weekends. All weekdays from when I get up till 4pm are SE4 days .(course, she dosn't know I play that much, ).

Re: Does ANYONE\'s wife/girlfriend like SEIV?
Same here - girlfriend hates it, don't know anyone offline who's into it. Unfortunately I live with my g/f and she get pretty annoyed that I have to play at least 1/2 hour a day to keep up with my PBEM games.
Wow... trying to imagine what it would be like if she played. She'd probably go into a three day sulk everytime I trashed one of her fleets.
Anyone know any good games for "converting" computer- hating girlfriends?

She says it look spretty boring - not as much as Stars!, though ..
But she likes Boardgames, and spends ages playing "Anno 1602" and something like that, not to mention "Tomb Raider".
And she really likes roleplaying games ...

Well... I don't know if it will "convert" her. But my wife generally rolls her eyes as I bLast people away in Counter-Strike. She always pokes fun at me by saying "Off to save another world?" as I head off to my computer.
BUT... I can get her to play some computer games, just not the ones I like. I did get her addicted to the SIMS for a while and she did occasionally play Sim City 3000. She even got pretty far in Grim Fandago. Right now, I have her addicted to the internet. I set her up with her own computer and she spends lots of time in certain forum's she likes. She also does plenty of e-mailing.
I just think women in general do not like same kind of games men do. While I can enjoy an occasional game of The Sims or Sim City, it's not my cup of tea. The same goes with my games for her.

Just make sure she's not doing any "virtual cheating" on you in those forums...
Seriously, my fiancee doesn't like anything that takes my attention away from her for hours at a time (of course, I don't really like things that take HER attention away from ME for hours at a time either). Especially since, by the time we get home from work, there's only about four hours we can spend together before it's time to get to bed so we can get up and go back to work in the morning. Weekends are somewhat better, but I still generally try to play SE4 only when she's asleep or running errands on her own. We've been playing Final Fantasy on the Playstation together, but SE4 involves too much micromanagement for my fiancee to want to play.
