Thanks. I'll look into it, though, I'm not sure that's it. I believe I was orbitting my home planet which I'm sure had the necessary resupply facilities. Still, being a neophyte I'll need to look into it before saying anything more. So if it is what you say, you'll have the red barrel next to your ship?

Yes, the red barrel means you're out of supplies; there's also a yellow barrel when you're low on supplies, but I forget offhand how much "low" is. There are settings in one of the data files where you can change the trigger points for these icons.

You also mentioned "losing control" of the ship. Do you mean it starts moving by itself? If that's happening, it sounds like you have the Supply Minister turned on. The SM will automatically send a ship to the nearest resupply point.

"Low", by default, is at 1000 units of supply remaining, regardless of how many you started with.
