Ah, now there's a possibility I hadn't thought of... I had assumed that he was losing the game, but all he really said was that he got a 'Game Over' message and it ended. The interface for starting a game makes this a likely mistake for a new player as well. I'll have to check that, thanks...
(That reminds me, is it too late to ask for all nations to be set to computer control by default instead of inactive? Would this be more helpful for people or less... I know it would be for me, but I tend to play SP games with all players active...?)

Re: Poll time guys!
another instant loss possibility is if he choose a very weak dominion and he is unlucky enough to not get a first candle on first turn.
I third the suggestion, put them all in impossible level

Re: Poll time guys!
I think he just forgot to put any computer players.
One candle death is also possible, as i have once seen Abysian god to die because lack of dominion on turn 2.
I third the suggestion too, even if it means that you'll have to click more if you want less than all computer players.

Re: Poll time guys!
Thanks for the help guys... as it turns out, it was a case where he missed adding any AI players. I seem to recall that I nearly did that myself on my first game...
