"Supply" is *not* a deprecated stat - it represents the amount of food that's stored in the castle to feed besieged garrisons. Nothing related to sending supplies to neighboring provinces.

Re: Castles and resource-sucking : a suggestion
The simplest solution would be for the castle resource-sucking to only apply to unused resources in a province. Building units in a province would take up all the resources available, if need be, depriving the castle of its share.

I suppose you are sure? Because I'm rather sure myself that I read a dev in the newsgroup saying that this value was no longuer user in doms. Or perhaps he meant 'was not used any longuer for external supply calculations'

Yes.

I don't remember a dev saying that, anyway (1) the "supply" value is still used in Dom I to provide supplies to besieged garrisons, and (2) as far as I can remember the "admin" value was always used to provide supplies to campaigning armies.

Re: Castles and resource-sucking : a suggestion
Forts definitely boost supply in Dom II and that boost is also present in diminishing levels in neighboring provinces.
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the Supply value is added to the provincial Supply value when there is no siege occuring. When there is a siege, the troops inside the fort are forced to rely on just the fort's Supply as they can't get out to gather the provincial supplies.
(P.S. Sorry for not posting a response to this sooner. I'm having some difficulties keeping up with everything right now!)

The admin still supplies armies unless there is a siege. It was not always this way, but it has been for ages (since our first patch or even before that). The supply value should perhaps be called siege supplies (to late now, but perhaps in the patch).
