Thanks for the answers! For the second point, it was not quite a suggestion, but rather a question to see if the AI was merely having troubles in the early game (which is common in other games), or if it was... "generalized". Being attacked by the God alone in the late game would be a bit harder to explain than at turn 12.
I cannot say for sure about the AIs, it depends on the fields I would believe. (You don't have to handle colonization, construction is much easier in Dominions, but you have to program commanders, spell casting and so on)
