Re: DOMII PBEM game update
I will try to do something with it when I get home. Question, though, first: what were you researching, and to what level? You realize that we're playing a Demo game, and the research is limited to L4...

You don't have the full Version?

Re: DOMII PBEM game update
If you recall, we started this game before the full Version came out. I do have the full Version of the game, but I have left this saved game running on the same instance of the demo Version that I originally installed oh-so-long-ago.
We can transfer over to the full Version I have installed, and I believe that the saved game should translate just fine. However, I would only do so with unanimous approval from the remaining players, as I have no idea if they all have the full Version or not. To switch it over after the game already started without their approval - giving a severe disadvantage to anyone who isn't running the full Version - would be acting in bad faith.

Re: DOMII PBEM game update
I'm not entirely against switching, but I definitely designed my pretender with 'demo' in mind - i.e. almost no research potential. I think I would suffer from switching more than some.
Having said that, if everyone else would like to switch I will go along with that.
BTW what are we doing over Christmas? I for one will be out of town for a while.

Re: DOMII PBEM game update
Ouch, my aching server.
Well, there was a power outage tonight. I was here to get it back up and running in just a few minutes, though there was a scary moment when I thought I'd lost the hard drive.
One thing that I noticed when I brought it back Online and set the host schedule was that somehow, two turns got processed tonight instead of one and we all missed a turn. During that turn, since we all missed it, nothing much happened aside from income and random events, but the part that hurts is that the we now can't see the results of the previous turn, including battles.
Is there any way to roll back a turn? It would be nice if I could "undo" that wasted turn. As it is there are only 6 turns left unless we switch to the full Version.

Re: DOMII PBEM game update
I would rather have you start a new game instead of switching, since some people have designed their nations for the demo.
Also, I want to see if I can get the hang of Ermor and single player is no good for that.

Re: DOMII PBEM game update
That actually makes good sense, given that I am moving by Jan. 1 and I was kind of worried about getting my DSL set up in time to make the switch.
This game is unlikely to produce any clear winner by turn 40, but that's ok - I had that in mind when I started, too. The point was to play it. And it has been interesting.
