Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
If you have a turn which crashed then sending a zip of that whole games directory to the devs can help. (such as a game called mygame you would zip up C:\publi~1\dominins2\mygame

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
Scandisk, defrag, disable sound acceleration in Windows, set sound to "waveout" in the game preferences, run in windowed mode, turn of ALL BACKGROUND SERVICES...
Run msconfig and just start disabling everything in "startup" that looks suspicious. You can normally disable everything in that window without causing any problems.
Then go to "Services" and disable some of those too. I disabled all the dumb-looking ones, like "Messenger", "Netmeeting", "Smartcard", "Task Scheduler", "Windows Time", "Wireless Zero", Uninterruptible Power Supply". Of course you may not be able to do this without XP Pro.
Then, press ctrl-alt-delete and end everything under "Processes" that is not listed as "System" "Network Service" or "Local Service", except "Explorer" and "taskmngr".
It's probably some badly programmed 3rd-party trash causing crashes. Do you use a virus scanner? Also Creative has a huge amount of BS loading on startup; disable all of their trashy driver stuff and toolbars.
Once you disable all the extra crap running, it should work fine.

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
Thanks Gandalf, but I tried that twice already. They can't recreate a crash on their end though. The turn executes fine for them every time, so they suggested I post here.

Make sure you sing "Daisy" while you're doing this, or else play the relevant portion of the 2001 movie.

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
Any clue what those are?
------------
PS/2 Devices

+ Terminal Server Keyboard Driver

Would guess it's WinExperimental running a Terminal Server Service .. I think it isn't suppose to on a gaming machine ??
On the other hand - could it be a thermal issue?
DOM runs with very high CPU-%tage (100% on my old P2/400) even when idling. Add some 3D battle replays and you may run into overheating problems ... .
And check out the memory usage .. what do the numbers say when DOM is quitting? (Run it windowed to be able to check the Task Manager simultaniously)
Maybe you want to send me your savegame (@gmx.net) so I might try if it works for me...

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
Thanks for the tips Saber, I just tried turning off everything I dared to, but no go. It still dumped me to desktop.
I'll send you the save Arralen, I assume it's your name @address given, so I'll send it there.
Thanks for all this help folks, I greatly appreciate it. I love this game and can't stand the thought that I have a unique crash problem that'll never get addressed officially.
