Make sure you sing "Daisy" while you're doing this, or else play the relevant portion of the 2001 movie.

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
Any clue what those are?
------------
PS/2 Devices

+ Terminal Server Keyboard Driver

Would guess it's WinExperimental running a Terminal Server Service .. I think it isn't suppose to on a gaming machine ??
On the other hand - could it be a thermal issue?
DOM runs with very high CPU-%tage (100% on my old P2/400) even when idling. Add some 3D battle replays and you may run into overheating problems ... .
And check out the memory usage .. what do the numbers say when DOM is quitting? (Run it windowed to be able to check the Task Manager simultaniously)
Maybe you want to send me your savegame (@gmx.net) so I might try if it works for me...

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
Thanks for the tips Saber, I just tried turning off everything I dared to, but no go. It still dumped me to desktop.
I'll send you the save Arralen, I assume it's your name @address given, so I'll send it there.
Thanks for all this help folks, I greatly appreciate it. I love this game and can't stand the thought that I have a unique crash problem that'll never get addressed officially.

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
I would start by updating all your drivers one at a time and see if it fixes the problem. I know your video drivers are a little out of date. You may want to check the sound card also.
Have you run this game without problems before or have you always had this problem since you first installed it?
When the game crashes does your whole computer crash or can you recover and keep working? In my experience a computer overheating will completely fail not just crash to desktop.
If all else fails try uninstalling and reinstall.

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
Well, I have the same video card in my gaming box as you and have no problems, but I'm using newer drivers (the 52.16 drivers you have had some bugs), so give that a try. Grab the 53.03 drivers from Nvidia over here;
53.03
Could also be your ram timings, considering that it does not always happen to you, either that or heat. You may want to open up your box and blow all the dust out of your heatsink and clean off your fans. Since its an alienware box I imagine they cranked up your ram timings, you may want to hop in the BIOS and relax them a bit. i.e. If they are at 6-2-2 cas 2 drop them down to 8-4-4 cas 3, or 7-3-3-cas 2.5. Its a quick and easy fix.
You may want to scan your drive for errors as well (sometimes there will be a error on the disk in the midst of the region designated for the swap file)
hit start->run->then type 'cmd'
->hit OK- type 'chkdsk c: /r', then agree to have it done when you reboot (dont type the quotes). Go reboot and wait a while. You have enough ram not to need the swap file, but unless you've set a few settings in the registry windows will use the thing like an idiot even with a couple gigs of ram available....
Good luck

Re: Help! Game crashes after 60-80 turns
The savegame crashes on my computer as well.
And it's a totally different machine (W2kSP2, Gef2Ti, Crystal 8xxxx PCI Sound, DX8.1 etc.)
Looks like DOM freaks out when processing a AI vs AI fight (Ctis 8 : Ermor 1500 units or something like this), judging from the logfile.
Possibly the devs tested on Linux Boxes only, and we know that there's a glitch concerning (different) random numbers on the different systems.
I'll zip the files up and send them to Illwinter.
A.
