Attacked by Independents -without Event?
Is this a weird bug or can it legally happen?
I conquered a province from Caelum, and *that very turn* I was attacked in the just conquered land by a strong Indy force, who wiped out a valuable army (30 units). There was *no* event message, no explanation for the attack at all.
Since when can Indies attack? They are supposed to behave passively and wait for the player to choose the right time and place to kill them!! And once killed, they are not supposed to reappear.

Re: Attacked by Independents -without Event?
Perhaps Caelum got the event message, since they owned the province at the start of the turn, and you got the event, since you owned it at the end ?
I have seen indies attack provinces on several occasion, but I believe you get a message in addition to the battle report.

This is most likely what happened, I have seen this happen several times. I get an even with indeps attacking, then an enemy nation attacks and steals the province, then the indeps attacks the enemy. All in the same turn.

Yup, I think thatīs the only logical explanation.
Thatīs the trouble with nations who canīt keep their house in order, and suddenly innocent people taking their provinces away from them get attacked by anarchists! What is the world coming to?

Re: Attacked by Independents -without Event?
a ritual maybe.
not sure a global enchantment or a standard ritual. illusion-army/ghost ship/ghost rider or something like would cause this: a indy force attacked your province w/o event message.

The ghost ship armada is flagged as belonging to the caster, I would imagine the other rituals are similar.
( E.g. when it attacks the combat replay is 'Ermor attacking Caelum' or whatever )

Re: Attacked by Independents -without Event?
Void, there are a few answers.
It could be one of a few spells that is not directly attributed to another player casting it.
Beckoning (Was the fight Vine men and such?)
Imprint Souls (Flaggellants and Militia?)
Raging Hearts
I'm fairly certain that if any of those spells are cast, they are called independants until the provincce is conquerored.

There are lots "ANONYMOUS" distant attack rituals..
btw, Imprint Souls IS NOT a anonymous ritual. Flaggellants and madman (not militia ) under the caster's control.
