Can't find d2 in uk shops

I have recently played the Dominions2 demo and have found it to be possible the best TBS game i have ever played. Sadly i been trying to find the game in my local shops(uk) for the Last 2 weeks and have found zippo. This has started making me think that the game isnt even out in the shops because i just been googling and have found just one UK website which i can buy the game from;

have other Users brought the game from this website before? because i have not heard of it before and i dont really trust giving money to an unknown business. And i will never buy a game from overseas so no point mentioning that idea. I would like to know from other UK gamers that they have found the game in the shops or if this website is well known to many people here..if i cant get the game in the uk safley or easily, then i will have to go to the exremes of getting this game. thanks. bye.

No, Dominions 2 isn't sold in stores, but I believe Shrapnel does have an Online distributor in the UK. Don't remember what they're called, though...

BTW, I personally have never had any trouble ordering things Online, and I've ordered SE4, SE4 Gold, and Dom2 all from Shrapnel. Of course, I do live in the USA; don't know much about international shipping...

edit: oh, you can also order by fax from The Gamers Front, it seems... they're in the US but if you don't like ordering Online it might be a better option...

The UK distributor is tuxgames (www.tuxgames.com). It says on their website that the CD will only include the linux Version (or at least it used to claim that) but the CD includes Versions for all platforms.

i've wrote out a chequeand sending it to Strategic Plus Software tomorrow. I know this game will be relatively expensive but i think the gameplay will be as good as starcraft and will be replayable for years. It be a week untill the delivery arrives, right at the start of the half term holidays..perfect timing.

I have used them twice - including buying DomII - without any nasty surprises. So they seem kosher, and the customer service also seems excellent. For example, I got a prompt reply to my DomII order informing me that DomII was unfortunately sold out for the moment, and the exact date when they expected to get it in stock again. On that day I got a second email informing me that it was indeed in stock and that they had mailed my copy, which arrived the next day. Little things, but they do make a difference.

Never had a problem buying on the internet.
But you better get used to it, as for PC games..The writing is already on the wall, you'll find less and less games in standard distribution channels and more and more throught direct sale/download.

Strategic Plus are as kosher as you can get - I've bought dozens of titles from them and visited their shop many times in the Last 10 years. I bought dom2 direct (and just got a 2nd copy too ).

I don't have any connection with SPS, except for giving them lots of cash over the years
