Spring Hawks do not rout. They are mindless, ethereal creatures, the same as the other Seasonal Spirits. You're thinking Black Hawks.

Re: Worst Moments!
OHHH damn that's right.
I was thinking spring hawks were regular hawks.
Are those etheral? Ethereal beings rarely are effecting by bone grinding. So spring hawks would kill me... that is if I was dumb enough not to very EASILY forge a ring of protection from lightning. Problem solved.
But my pretender would still die due to the high dominion, not to mention he might kill himself with bone grinding. Usually I have a 1 astral sacrificial shaman cast body etheral on my pretender. (usually the shaman is effected by etheral too)

Since you live in the U.S.A, I'll go ahead and say this: the correct root word to use is "affect", not "effect". "Effect" is a noun. "Affect" is a verb. You are using the word as a verb. So you should have said "affected by bone grinding", and "affected by ethereal".
That's the English lesson for the day.

Re: Worst Moments!
Well...I just had a worst moment!
Playing what I call magical Ulm - Master Alchemist - with Golum cult.
My Pretendor is a Rainbow Master Alchemist, basicaly a wimpy chemical engineer (like me) He was out doing his typical searches when my main army was adjacent to him and I decided to take an independant. I also decided to give him some battle experience so I sent him with the army. The battle was easy but my pretender picked up the beserker amulet that gives you rage and strength but also makes the unit run howling like an idiot right into the front lines. Yep you guessed it the that same turn the AI invaded the same province. My grand army did what they were suppose to hold while my archers fired thier volleys and the mages buffed up. Guess what my insane chemical engineer did? While brandishing his dagger he ran straight into the enemies lines screaming like a school girl!!!! I can just hear the enemies front line conVersion.....
What in bloody hell is that running at us?? An enginner with a butter knife? This must be a trick! Stick your sear in him....No way you stick your spear in him... OK fine - Stabs my god once and he dies...

Re: Worst Moments!
In every disaster, there is a lesson for you. Give your Master Alchemist a lot of trinkets before you send him to battle...
