I entered the URL, and *poof* there it was.
Most likely your provider does not allow remote-linking.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can use BMPs as image files. Generally it's JPG or GIF. It may very well simply be rejecting your extension.

That's another good point. BMP is not an accepted Web format. Only JPG/PNG/GIF are.

Which, of course, they certainly should be doing. BMP files, even for small pictures, are just too large to be used on the web.

Umm... these causes are actually impossible.
I've tried JPG, PNG, and GIF. The file format is not the problem. The problem is my link not staying active after I update my profile. Oh, look at that. A shrapnel avatar works.

What's the size of the picture you're trying to use? Maybe that's the problem?
