Default just a noob entering the scene with a few ?

Hi all
I stumbled over the game browsing trough some old Homm sites, got demo, got hooked and ordered it , good game illwinter! Very Good Actual.

Looks like a nice and organised community here so no more lurking around for me.

Let me introduce myself shortly
jondifool here, long time alround heroes and diablo computer player. But more to the point here, once I and a friend run an ad@d turnedbased kingdom campagain as a play by snail mail based on the birthright settings, with 20 players involved, writing 3 pages a turn, great fun but man was it a big workload.
And this game here is the closest I ever seen that resemble what I found so fun and rewarding that time. So I am in for some play!

To the game! ( oh and by the way forgive me if this has already been asked, i have searched but still not found. ). Still making my observations and discoverys mainly in the early games.

I have played some marignon with a fire 9 pretender. Toying around with the bless bonus.
A wizard tower and a lot of flaggelants.

I found the flagelants very strong ! Had a lot of success with a small line of some heavy infantery in front and flagies just far enough behind to not take the beating off the intial army clash. I did notices that some indie knights did got beaten when i didn't exspect them to fall. (Now I just have to solve the friendly fire problem, when bring crosbows aswell.)

I was wondering if the flail of the flagelant does ad the fire damage twice for the flails 2 attack, or only once ? It could explain the power I think they have.

I have browsed the forum for a list of the sacred units in the game, as it would be nice to be able to compare them with the different bless bonus in mind when making a pretender. Does such list exsist (i have downloaded the unit lists, just wondering if there was an easyer way).

Does the game do a dominon check for each praying priest in a province or only for one ?
The real question is can a big sneaking army of preaching comanders make a dominion tower in 1 turn, deep behind the enemy lines Didn't see it yet in my games.

If your pretender also has an air magic bless, blessed units will gain an air shield that is increasingly effective at higher levels of air blessing. Knights of the Chalice with an air 8 or 9 bless are nearly invulnerable to missiles, and your crossbowmen will be able to fire indiscriminately without fear of hitting them.

I do believe the fire damage is, in fact, applied once for each attack, and flails grant two, so the damage is applied twice.

Each preacher will cause a preaching check. So yes, you can send an army of friars to preach like crazy and attempt to demolish dominion.

Just wanted to say welcome, and I (at least) appreciate well-written and coherent questions.

Good job

I consider myself the newbie killer. I love to play networked games with newbies.

If yeh want a quick 1 on 1 game, I am almost always availible. Just send me a message through AIM, ICQ, MSN, yahoo, or I can meet you on IRC. (irc.gamesurge.net #dominions)

No one may cast flames from afar on me! NO ONE!!!

The ability to kill newbies is hardly something to be proud of, Argitoth!
