Re: slow PBEM game request
Is there still some place left?
If thats the case, I'm with you (well, in fact I'm against you, but never mind).

May I suggest something, based upon my SEIV experience? Could we set deadlines, by which time the turns will be submitted and the turn MUST advance. Slow games tend to have more people asking for a day extra here and there and do tend to grind down to nothing. If we stick to the schedule, we will all miss a turn or two, but play will go on.
Also, at two turns a week, we would do eight turns a month. Are we all available for the next six months (turn 48)? Anyone got annual leave planned where they will be unable to play? I just got back from mine Monday, so I am free for a while.
Three turns a week is much harder to keep up with, but we do 12 turns a month and hit turn 48 in four months.
The fewer the players, the easier it is to keep rolling, so I would argue for a fairly low number of players.
Also, we may wish to discuss up front what happens to anyone who drops out and for whom we can not find a replacement. This situation can seriously imbalance a game. Is it possible to turn the AI part way through? I do not know.
Any thoughts on all this?

Perhaps we can run three times per week for the first few weeks, then switch to twice a week. I agree with Saxon - there should be a regular schedule, if you're late you miss the turn. Is it possible to have another player play a turn for you if you're out of town?

Re: slow PBEM game request
Bob, I sent you an email about joining.
here is part of it for open discussion:
"If we get enough players, I think the Orania map would be good. Victory with # of provinces.
I think it would be most fun, if everyone was assigned a random nation rather than his/her favorite choice =).
If we do make choices, I'd like to play Caelum, Jotunheim, but anything except Mictlan (which I already play in another game) is fine with me.
For hosting days I'd prefer Tuesdays, Thurdays, and Sundays."
