Great suggestions guys, thanks for the help. I'll try some of this tonight.

One Last thing: While I am researching and forging to get to this level of gear, should I shy away from letting him solo, or just pick my battles carefully? Should I equip him with what I can make at the time, or leave him in the back with a full army for a while?

This will be against AI players only.
