Comprehensive Systemnames.exe?
I was thinking of going thru the mod section and combining every sysname i could get my hands on into a single file. would anyone be interested in this? does the game choose randomly from this list of names, or just go down the list until it either runs out of names or system, whichever comes first?

Re: Comprehensive Systemnames.exe?
Definitely randomized choices. So you will get different names each time.

Re: Comprehensive Systemnames.exe?
Actually, I have already done this. It is in the eyecandy mod.
Called SystemsSpecial
And all the new ones that have been posted will be added in the next release.

It would be better if we had various "theme consistent" system names files and could pick & choose them for the particular game we wanted to play. Being to have all real star names, or all Star Wars names, or whaetever, could be a real enhancement to the game atmosphere.

Re: Comprehensive Systemnames.exe?
I think the file I have has like 5000 names or some such number. I virtually never remember a duplicate system name, so its like all my games are new.
The 'themes' idea is a good one - maybe keep different SystemNames.txt files (...Orig, StarWars, StarTrek, etc) and change names when needed. Maybe use a directory structure similar to the mod dir's...

Re: Comprehensive Systemnames.exe?
If you look in the mods section, you will find that each of these posted. plus the two I have in my mod (ver 1.04). If you want say just the starwars names or the Star trek names in a file. I have copies of those also and will post them.
No problem Dumbluck, I just didn't know if you had checked out my mod yet.
