Re: Abysya - Blood Hunt/Research problem. For Developers especially.
Hmmm.... from what I have seen Abysia in the hands of a good player is quite potent. Play a game against Gaeme or Zen with them playing Abysia and you will see how strong Abysia is!

Oh, BF certainly does have its bloodhunters. Members of the Second Tier and 1/4 of your Fortunetellers. And that's not mentioning the Blood Counts, the bloodhunters who make their own patrollers.
OTOH, I would have to say that BF Ulm is the nation least-dependent on its Blood magic (except for perhaps Vanheim).
But yes, a 160g 1-blood searcher is not all that much fun. I'm using them, though.
Abysia, OTOH... yeesh. A 2-blood hunter for 150g is _nice_. And Abysia's mages, believe it or not, are not that overpriced. About 10-20g each, and when you consider their Fire Immunity and Heat auras, that's not all that bad. To put it another way, they're more expensive until someone starts frying your mages.
Abysia needs absolutely no help, IMO. They're scary enough as is.

I am not one of the most experienced players here but I would personally put Abysia-default in the top 5 nations, strength-wise.

IMHO it depends ... Abysia is Ok in start game, very strong in middle game, but unless you managed to find Sages you end up quite low in research ultimately and so have difficulties in long/large games.
A big plus of Abysia is the easy access to good flying demon armies

You don't have to find Sages, you can find Lizard Shamen, Enchantresses, Wizards, Azure Mages, Amazons, pretty much anything that has a decent cost/research ratio that will let you mass recruit searchers while your Blood Economy is driven by Capital Recruitments (and hopefully an Indep, Amazons are good for this since they often come with Blood.)

When I say they are in my top 5, I don't mean that they are top 5 in every situation, I mean, when you consider all situations and their frequencies and average them together.

Oh, don't get me started on how good the Garnet Amazons are... a singularly nasty Sacred troop that's worth every gold of its cost (unlike the Wind Rider in most people's eyes), and 100g Sacred FB Bloodhunters. It can make anyone a Blood nation.
BTW, I thought people had reported a bug with the Gryphon Riders not fighting after the rider dies... I saw it happen in a 2.12 game. I'd almost pay 125g for the Gryphon by itself...
