It's not a problem with DNS resolution, I can resolve the DNS when I try probing with telnet just fine. However, the port times out. This is probably your firewall it is running into. Firewall tweaked again.

No joy. Might be your router as well as your firewall - I know I had to tweak both in order to host. (Setting the PC in the router's DMZ, so it let everything through, and then telling the software firewall to allow that port, and the dom2.exe to communicate via it.)
Edit : The router / firewall might filter that port, given that 3 trojans are known to access 7777 for 'cbt'.

Yes, as Cainehill said seting router to DMZ could do the trick Zombie, if you think that would be an acceptable solution for you. I know it worked for me when I was playing EU2 in MP and had a lot of troubles with hardware and software firewalls.
