Re: Space Vikings sneak preview
quote: So what you are basically telling me, is that you noticed a bug and didn't inform me.
Shame on you...
Well, it takes two seconds to rename a file, but two minutes to write a note.
Many times I mod downloaded races in any way I like, since it’s something I do in private for my personal use there's no need on reporting or asking permission.
Actually next time I checked your patch was Online.
quote: Well, I'll have a look on the anger files again, but compared to other races they shouldn't be too nice. Maybe I am missing something. Do you know, if they were at war with somebody else? That would make them nicer towards you.
I think they were at war with those blue hammerhead neutral players but had a treat with some other neutral. Maybe it was just because I’m a good and nice player.
Too bad I erased that game and will have to start over to test them.

Re: Space Vikings sneak preview
QUOTE:
Sizes missing by now would be colony ships, space stations and starbases (I used resized Versions of the battlestation) and all units (fighters, troops, weap plats and sats)
/QUOTE
See the work to do page. As well as the sizes you mention, I will be making images for battlemoon/ death star, infantry, and various other modded vehicles.
QUOTE:
Hope you like what I've done.
/QUOTE
I haven't seen your Version yet. Where can I get it?
QUOTE:
It will be considered temporary until you provide your own official Version.
/QUOTE
I have been very busy this summer (4 different weddings to go to, stag nights, holidays, visiting people... I haven't had a weekend "off" since June and won't have another until at least October) so it might be a loooong time before the Viking images are done. Please be patient and bear with me though, I will get there and I would hate for someone else to beat me to it.
QUOTE:
do you have pics for any of them?
/QUOTE
I have some images in progress, but I'm not ready for another upload yet.
And a note to Rollo:
I had planned to wait until all outline images were done before I did any colouring, but I have decided to break my own rule. I should have a completed racial portrait by Tuesday for inclusion in your zips. (I do like the Hagar pics though=-) I'll mail them to you.

Okay, great. Can't wait to see it. If I upload the new stuff with the official race picture and flag we need also agree on a new and official race name (and I can finally get rid of the self-centered Rollvik name, which was never intended for public use just for PBW, but I was too lazy to change all the file names ). What do you think (anybody)? Just Vikings_? Space_Vikings_, Odinsons_, Einherjar_, Aesir_ whatever...

What do you think?
A note to Andres - Sorry if my previous post seemed harsh. No offence intended, I really respect your work. I just don't want to lose control of the SV images.

It seems that the email listed in this forum is wrong. Trying again with the one listed in your site.

Re: Space Vikings sneak preview
quote: One thing the AI seems to ignore, is the maximum allowed treaty parameter. I have set that to T&R, but have seen the Vikings enter military alliances and partnerships in spite of that.
I can't find the thread where I read it, but ISTR some speculation that that setting only limits what the AI will offer, not what it will accept.
