Default Feeble Mindedness Resistant to Healing?

Is it possible that not all afflictions are created equal when it comes to being healed?

Recently in SP play, I had a pretender get feeble minded. For 10+ turns I had my hero w/ heal troops ability healing, and while all kinds of troops/commanders were getting healed of their afflictions, it never worked for my pretenders FM. For maybe as much as 5 turns I was running GoH, still no luck. Then I forged the Chalice, ran the game two different times, once the pretender was cured in one turn, and the other (iirc), he was cured in two.

Does anyone know if FM is more resistant to healing than other afflictions? I suppose its possible this was just a run of bad luck, but I tested this enough to seriously doubt that, at this point. Or, is it the case that the "heal troops" command (said in the description to be identical to Arco's priests), won't ever heal FM? And/or might GoH have the same limitation?

I've had a few generals get Feebleminded during my Last game, but they've always been healed after a while when Gift of Health was running.

I haven't tried it with my Pretender, though.

Absolutely. Some afflictions are easy to remove, others hard. I've found that Mute is very easy to heal, as is the loss of the second eye. Never-Healing Wound is practically impossible to get rid of, although it is possible.

I don't know exactly where on the scale feeblemind lies, though.

in previous Posts i have read that all aflictions are equal except for never healing wound, which is twice as difficult

A few thoughts:
- was your pretentder undead? I don't think healing units like Arco priestesses or faerie queens can heal undead - only GoH or the Chalice.
- I believe GoH is dominion-dependent - was your pretender in a low or negative domain province?

That jives with what I've observed. Except that never-healing wounds appear to be harder to heal than merely 2x. Of course, just because statistically it's 2x doesn't mean it won't be 10x in a real game. Remember, statistically, a player always gets screwed. One of Murphy's Laws relative to gaming.

No, in fact it was a high (4 going to 8) domain province.

Thanks for the replies everyone - this confirms what I suspected by my limited test. After this, I'm fairly inclined to believe that believe that FM is harder to heal than at least some other afflictions, although my 10 turn test is not sufficient to come to any conclusive judgements (as Arryn says, Murphy's Law applies ).

There are two levels of afflictions. IIRC serious ones (crippled, lost one arm, perhaps feebleminded) are rarer and more difficult to get rid of. Never healing wound is not a serious affliction, but more difficult to get rid of.

It just makes sense.
What would be easier to cure, a chest wound or severe trauma to the head? Or perhaps stitching back a lost hand...
