Is mistform working as intended?
I was under the impression that one gets afflictions only
when the blow inflicts significant damage. But I have
had a lot of commanders getting the chest wound affliction
while the misform spell was active. The misform was not
broken in the process, i.e. it was still active afterwards,
and the blows in question inflicted no more than one point
of damage. The 'chest wound' may be a coincidence or a
trick of the random number generator, but I think that
it makes sense that misform should prevent afflictions
unless it is taken down.

Perhaps your opponent was using the flesh eater axe.

All magic weapons will end the mistform anyway.
I'm betting on just bad luck. Chest wound is a very easy affliction to get.

Also - 1 point of damage on a 10 (or less) HP commander may well be enough to cause an affliction on occasion. (I'm not sure, but I think a wound causing 10% HP damage or more has a chance of causing an affliction that rises as the damage percentage grows.)

Re: Is mistform working as intended?
because mistform does not block all damage, it seems reasonable to me that you could get afflictions. i once saw a phoenix with mistform take 4 afflictions in 5 one-damage hits!

Re: Is mistform working as intended?
You can get an affliction from any damage. It is just that the percentage chance of an affliction goes up as the percent total damage of the hit.

Master Shake is right. Even 1 hp damage on 300 hp pretender can give you affliction if you are very unlucky.
