Re: Can item induced afflictions recuperate/heal?
the eye of aiming iirc gives you +7 precision but you lose 3 or 4 precision by lost an eye affliction .
this makes the eye of aiming a rather worthless item if my remembered figures are correct .
only a net +3-4 precision + you can never remove it again .

Re: Can item induced afflictions recuperate/heal?
I believe it's +8 -3 for lost eye for a net of +5. I think it's actually pretty worthwhile as most mages' att and def values are worthless no matter how strong or weak they are... unless they lose their other eye too

Re: Can item induced afflictions recuperate/heal?
I believe (though have not tested) that if you lose the other eye also, the Eye of Aiming will still give you the precision bonus, applied in this case to a base precision of 0.
Afflictions that are caused by an item can't be healed as long as the item is attached. Since most such items are cursed (not all - the Bane Venom Charm and Fever Fetish aren't) these afflictions are more or less permanent. Also, if a unit has an affliction "built in" (such as the Allfather) this affliction can't be healed.

Re: Can item induced afflictions recuperate/heal?
No, tartarians can get better by way of Gift of Health or the Chalice. Priestesses and Fairy Queens can't heal them, but it's because they're undead, rather than because of anything special about the affliction. In this case they start with an affliction, but it's not considered "part of the unit" like it is with the Allfather (who has the affliction on his character sheet during pretender selection).

Re: Can item induced afflictions recuperate/heal?
Eh - I've read on the forums that the Allfather _can_ be healed of his one-eyed status, because it shows up as a wound. Presumably the same is true of Anwyn the blind (heroine of Man). For the Allfather, I suspect that Vanheim doesn't get GoH or the Chalice as readily as other nations, so it doesn't happen often, but with Man...

It always bugged me that you couldn't plop an eye into an empty eye socket. If someone's lost an eye already, you ought to be able to put in an Eye of Aiming (or other magical orb of your choice) without suffering the loss of the other eye... But no can do.

Never played the Allfather, but Brangwen gets better with a Gift of Health - I've done that often enough to be sure of it...
