Heres an idea, have a ship raise out of a hanger on the ground with weapons shooting at it and have little weapons inplacements on the ground shooting up.

How about this:
Peaceful, uncolonized forest world.
Rocks and trees and a woodland creature or two hopping/flying past.

Up in the sky, a large, close moon full of vaccuum breathers is being attacked by somebody else.

that would be a good opener to a scifi show or movie. Not for a pic because you would have to move the camera view to see the ground and slowly move up to that

A camera at ground level, looking up past the critters in the trees to see the spacebattle would work... probably best at night, I guess.
