Question on Weapons Creation

I think there is a generic design file you have to change to get them to use it. (Ever wonder why all the computer designs are the same as every race.

Look for:
Majority Weapon Family Pick # := 34
And move the numbers as applicable.

Also head over to the research file, and get them to research the required tech.
