"Unrest is not normal"? Sorry, but while I tend to have 0 unrest in ... 50-75% of my provinces, I also wind up with 1-20% in a lot of others.

And you know, you are losing 1-20% of your income in those provinces every turn. Unrest is NOT normal, when I see some I drop taxes for a turn (10% less taxes = 3 healed unrest) until it is over. That way, I only lose money for one turn, while you lose a lot more.

Also, as someone else said, pop loss from 1-10% unrest is negligible. If I "had" to do the patrolling and there was unrest, I'd just be happy to get two things done with one action.

There is a Move&Patrol order. Tho it is hard to find and not documented as far as I know. What you do is this:

-Select a commander
-Order him to Move to a province (this is the default move order)
-Click on the commander's Move order to bring up the order selection popup
-You will now see a "Move and Patrol" order. Select that
And to be more specific, "Move and Patrol" -order is selectable ONLY if army is moving to a province with a fortification.

Yes I know I am losing income with unrest, but I have never been able to get unrest totally under control in more then say 60% of my provinces. Usually I do have a site or two generating unrest but I am throwing out those provinces of the equation. Normally (in 40% of the provinces) I have between 10-30 unrest. (no- I do not, will not blood hunt so thats not an issue)

I did not know about the move&patrol order and that is good to know.

Patrolling is worth it, even if you kill of a few pop, it will get your unrest down to zero very quickly (unless it is VERY high).

You will lose less income overall patrolling then you will by lowering taxes... of course it is not always (or even often) feasible, since you need a ncie body of troops to patrol with effectively. Often it is more exopedient to simply lower taxes for a period.
