Re: OMG
Hah! Dominions 2 has nearly 60k Posts in only a fraction of the time! We'll catch up with you yet! (Especially since this forum will likely stop growing after SEV comes out.)

Haha, if my expectations are correct, se5 forum will grow up to 1'000'000 Posts in a year or two!

...and that's assuming that the Dominions forum will continue to grow at it's current pace, which is unlikely.

Re: OMG
Never waste and OMG on a pointless post. That is a waste of an OMG.

I see no reason for it to slow. Seems like it has the same reasons for traffic that this forum has. Years worth of tactic experimentation, and modding capability. Each patch adds new territory to the modding.
Of course it might split before equaling this forum, since they have announced Dominions 3 for next year.

Re: OMG
I do hope that they take the time to make Dominions III a bit more indepth such as SE IV. I mean there are many things in SEIV that are done well that if adopted in principal would make Dominions III a far more playable and fun game without the huge micro-managment issues it currently has.
When all you do is manage territories without the frame work of a unified control system, such as the master que in Space Empires, the game becomes very tedious and burns the player out rapidly as in what happened to me.
A great concept for a game no doubt, just lacked the control tools that I felt would have made it a far more addictive and fun game than it had become.

Re: OMG
Yes some management improvements would help. Id also like to see it incorporate the AI text files that SEIV has.
And although I understand the direction of tga files (especially for a program developed on linux) I still have trouble getting newbies interested in things like map-making and modding. I wouldnt mind them going to a more native format for the majority of the players, and using txt as an extension on their ascii files. Forcing a dos text file format would help also instead of the unix one. But I guess that might be the pro and con of the big plus that it runs on more than Windows.
