The best luck I've had with the succubus:
level 1 fire and astral mage
NEVER landed a good catch
has anyone got a really good commander with a succubus?? with seduce?

I seduced with Belial and picked up a faerie queen kitted out with magebane and some other nice stuff.  |

Best I've seduced was I think probably a seraph. As Mictlan, it was a great addition.
However my succubi have failed to seduce and then assassinated some great characters, such as the Pythian Prophet Grand Thaumaturg (or whatever) type who was the one who kept casting Wrath of God global spells.

Whoa. That's a bit, uh, non-thematic.
As for the Ashen Angel, IIRC it might be the same monster sent by the Manifestation spell, so that would be a somewhat safer way to check it out. Somewhat, 'coz Manifestation can backfire...

Yes, it's the same one. Those things are nasty, think about an undead Angel of the Host/Arch Angel with a bad attitude. I don't remember if they were armed with Bane Blade, Wraith Sword or Dark Fire Sword (one of those anyway), but it usually makes little difference from a non-SC pov...
