Re: OT: Drugs....
I guess food would be my drug. Just as deadly when abused and far more costly in the long long run.

Re: OT: Drugs....
I only answered Question 1.. No (Question 2 is a trick question kind of like "Have you stoped beating your wife?" if you andwer yes it implies you 'did' and if you anwser no it implies you are 'still'. A no win situation)
Anyway, I never felt the need or curiosity to try drugs. As for addictions, can't seem to stay away from my computer and I often feel 'compelled' to eat.
Cheers!

Re: OT: Drugs....
Did some stupid things on this subject 10 to 12 years ago.
I never came in (financial)problems or became (really) addicted, but I know now that it was more luck than wisdom.
But I can not say that I regret it, I see it as an sort of learning period. And I really know what I'm talking about right now. (not the ussual stuff : if you use it a few times you are addicted, or all Users are junks and will steal your car radio etc etc......... )
I must also mention that our (the Dutch) perception of drugs is completly different than the American way....
So I think I confessed enough for one day

Re: OT: Drugs....
Never.
Never touched Alcohol, Never touched Ciggarettes, Never Touched Drugs. Yes my teenage life might seem boring, but I prefer clean living, and I think of all the cash I have saved by not doing any of the above...

Re: OT: Drugs....
Did it, dont regret it, but I wouldnt recommend it. Its kindof on par with other memories of "wow that was stupid of me" like playing in the roofs of really tall condemned structures, hopping trains, cliff diving into unknown waters, playing with dangerous animals, and hitchhiking planes. Memories I wouldnt give up but definetly not something Id recommend to anyone I liked.

Re: OT: Drugs....
Almost the same as RD. Never went anywhere near Cigarettes, Drugs, and didn't drink any alcohol, unless cider qualifies.

Re: OT: Drugs....
Been there, Done that, trying to forget it all. For the most part, I'd agree with GP. Made some pretty impressive memories and now have some really neat stories to relate to others, but on the whole a very bad part of my life. Unlike others here, I DID have a serious problem for about 6 months. Altogther I spend 2 or 3 years on the wrong road of life. And it's really really hard to get off that road after a short while.
I see a lot of my friends who are still on that road or are starting on it and I try to warn them but unfortunatly, they don't listen. There was a small group of us who all decided we'd had enough of spending an insane amount of money (once spent $3000 in 2 days myself!!) and we all decided to quit together. If we hadn't I don't know if any of us could have. It was hard.
I had to keep busy somehow so I got myself 4 jobs. 2 were full time, one part time and the other filled in where I wasn't working. 16 hours every day except for Monday's where I only worked 8.
On the otherhand, I gained IMO some unique skills. I have now developed the ability to Detect Addtictions. After a short time, I can now tell if someone is having an addiction to something (drugs, alcholhe or other) because I know what the signs are. In some cases, I can actully tell what the drugs are because of physical manafestations. eg: cocaine addicts skin begins to look almost transparent.
Didn't mean to spew all that, but hey you asked for it

Re: OT: Drugs....
If it's classified as a narcotic or controlled substance, I've probably done it. And probably done too much as well. I haven't touched any of the 'hard' stuff in the Last 4 years, but I smoke, both tobacco and FAR less frequently, cannabis (hash or weed), and of course go out for a few drinks every now and then. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of alcohol, and only really drink because I live in Dublin and it's just part of the culture. There really isn't anything else to do after 6pm on a Friday or Saturday but head out to the pub with your friends. But I find the enjoyment one gets from alcohol is too often not worth the after-effects. To be sure there's been a few nights where I've staggered home absolutely twisted, woken up the next morning feeling as if I'd stood a bit to close to an atomic bLast, but still thought it was worth it. Other times I've woken up with a bit of a dry mouth and a slight headache and thought it wasn't worth it.
I've been on the losing end of a battle with cigarettes since the beginning of the year when I resloved to quit, but I have no doubt I'll succeed eventually.
I guess that answers questions 1 & 2, which only leaves 3. Regrets? None. Not a single one. I might look back and think 'I could have handled that situation a bit better', but I don't regret anything I took, or anything I did. I know I've probably knocked a good few years off my life, but frankly I don't care. All the crazy things I did when leading that lifestyle has made me who I am, and I wouldn't trade that for anything. And I'd really rather be able to say, "I've been there, I've done that, and I know really not a great idea," rather than, "I've never done it but I'm told it's not a great idea."
Plus I figure, when I have a son/daughter, and he gets to a certain age, I can sit him down and say, "I've done them all son, and I probably won't be around to see you finish univercity because of it." And if that doesn't keep the little blighter on the straight and narrow, I don't know what will.
