No, no mods and I am at the beginning of the Campaign.

I have fixed it by doing a clean install to a new directory. However, I have now got the problem that the Event of meeting Terrain Contact after doing the 3 pirate jobs won't fire and thus I can not proceed any further with the campaign. Anyone know the EventID so I can manually fire it from the console?
