Need a little help here with theme to dom2
Okay, I've been messing around with some of the graphic in dom2. How do I change the frame around the unit portrait?
screenshot 1 screenshot 2 ~ 350 kb
Here some more screenshots: research panel 1600x1200 (672 kb)
overview 1600x1200 (1250 kb)
Though it would be cool with a gui theme installer/changer for dom2 or dom3 (for that matter). So if you play eg. Ermor you choose a cool theme that fits to it.

I think a mod with different themes for different nations would be quite nice. Maybe something for the next patch.

So there WILL be a next patch!! Yippee! Thanks!
(Sorry, I cannot resist: Do you think you could make Call of the Wild only castable on Forest Provinces? )

Re: Need a little help here with theme to dom2
For Thilock: There already exists a "mod" that changes graphics , including borders, by replacing files. I think the file changed something like GUIBORDER, but I can't check it right now... sorry.
If no one else has remember or posted that mod by the time I'm home tomorrow, or told you better way, I'll post the file in here. I still have the .zip, although I don't think I have name of its creator up anywyhere.

That would be great if you post the file(s), I was looking for it but couldn't find it anywhere. Then I can get a look in which files to change and add.

Re: Need a little help here with theme to dom2
actually the only thing I remembre was some .tga files that replaces the orginal ones ... guiborde.tga and guimid.tga ... there wasn't any mod but you just have to change these files by hand, renamingthe old ones to preserve them
anyway, I think that it will be great if it is possible to include in a mod a calling to some other files that replace the orginal skins
good play

Re: Need a little help here with theme to dom2
Better late than never, I hope...
Has anyone checked the other tga files one the main DomII folder? Among others, there are those sea/mountain picture shown behind battles, and guite some picture with names like 'guimid', 'guibar', 'guiborder' etc. It might be interesting to know what can be changed, and by which amounts...
A pity we can't mod the "hosting turn, plese wait" screen to have an animation of the rotating cube...

Re: Need a little help here with theme to dom2
Well, the dream I have was completly moddable interface look, with a gui to change and install possibilities. Eventually lock some specific interface theme to specific nations as standard theme for those nations.
Also changing the icons in Dom2 would be awesome!

I just checked out your (top) screenshots - that's really cool!! Reminds me of the different interfaces in Starcraft for the three races. Great idea, and it looks really good!
