No there is not a filter that totally deletes posts. That is up to the moderator or admin's discretion. Could there have been some sort of error when you submitted the post? I could check with the mods but unless it was inflamatory or slandering another poster I doubt that removal of the post was the case.
And Will is right, the filter simply ****'s out banned words.
