Oh yeah something weird going on... I tried to connect yet again, and while waiting for it to get to the password prompt I went and did something else.

When I came back I saw it was at the password prompt and the text "isnt that what I sa" was entered at the prompt (not by me, by remote persons unkonwn). Weird... anyway, it crashed again after that

I figure your server port is conflicting with some other service you are running.

Oh yes, that's better all right. Much faster response and straight into the game.

So what else does use port 8888?
