Modded EMP files??

well, i didnt want to bring this up, but yes. you would have to mod the racial traits file, and create the game with the modded file (otherwise you would get the 'this race uses too many points' message.)

after the game is created, you can play the game without the mod and have your uber race in there. I wanted to keep that one under my had, because i was planning on using that trick for the judiciary race in the Smash TV game, to keep them challenging even though they only had one system to occupy.

So this means I could create/release a new race with these .emp files and anyone could download it/use it without modding anything on thier computer?

Nope, you got it backwards D (or sideways maybe ). You would have to have the modded files to generate the first turn. But after the first turn was generated you could play the game using non-modded files and your race would have the racial traits.

P.S. If this were not true, it would be very easy to cheat in multiplayer games. You could do all sorts of funky stuff using modded files on your 'puter and then send the .emp file to the host. Bad news.

Damn, didn't even think of the cheating problem. I don't (aside from the 'old days' in Diablo 1 when you almost had to cheat to avoid the hackers...ironic) do I ASSume no-one else will as well.(messed me up in some Magic:The Gathering tournaments waaayyyy back when people had VERY crafty ways of 'bending' the rules).

So I guess this is good only for scenario creating eh.....well I just might have to think of doing one (one of these days...too little time...too many pbw games! .)
