				 Space scum
I mean what are fighers meant for? i mean they only blast the enemy into thousands of pieces and than use those pieces for more practice:-d.
But anyways can you make fighters into fleets? Can you make them warp? What about them launching stuff? Like once i am done with the modded star trek mod which i will be soon once i get my dad to print me some papers but anyways.... the fighters would be the main battle unit in that and i need them to warp and have to launch units and junk like that .

Help please:-d. Is it possible or would i have to do something else...ships would not work because in this you need about 800 fighters to take on a planet and with ships that can make the battle map thing too small so it can turn the odds really unevenly because on player ships can be spread throughout the entire combat map and the other together. get what i am saying? Please help |

You can fleet fighters, but if you fleet them with ships, there is a bug where the fleet supplies will be quickly drained.
Fighters cannot warp on their own.

Fighters cannot be modded to launch stuff.

 Units are cargo.
Units cannot carry cargo.
Fighters cannot warp.

Fighters DO stack up into crazy-huge stacks.

If you have a problem with too many ships, perhaps you should simply scale back the resource production.

If you are looking for a mod where fighters are important, take a look at Carrier Battles Mod.

				 Re: Space scum
What is the point to dividing ships up like that?If it is just to say "Wow four hundred of them" then reconsider what you are doing. Will there really be a difference in the quality of the gameplay if you make it require so many ships? Can you mitigate that by simply increasing the size of the individual ships?

If you want larger fighter groups, look in Settings.txt. There is a record where you can specify the maximum amount of fighters per group in combat.

				 Re: Space scum
You could mod in a cheap, small ship that isn't actually a unit. They would be able to be fleeted and warp, but would not be able to be loaded on carriers. If that doesn't matter to you, then I'd guess it's the way to go.

Ahaah..... so Realism RLVs will be limited to systems only, while SLVs are capable of limited interstellar travel..... hmm..... would make SLVs useful later on.....
