No, sorry. I'm not being as clear as I should. I mean to have three types of defensive systems:
1. Ray Shields -- Standard Shields
2. Particle Shields -- Emissive Armor w/ Armor ability
3. Armor -- Standard Leaky Armor
If the "Armor" was like standard armor, energy weapons would go right through it.

There are many great armor models out to choose from so making these should be no problem at all, especially for someone like you.
I was wondering if there is a tech manual or other that you can use to gather component and weapon ideas from. Like Turbo Lasers, hyper drive engines, etc.
A good Star Wars mod would be a great addition to the game. Also I have a good Rebellion link if your interested. If its still a valid site it may have a lot of good info you can gleam.

I was hoping someone out there had read the New Jedi Order Series or some of the other books. Those places and the movies are where the best ideas are. That's where the people who make other Star Wars games get their ideas.

I have not read them. To be honest I really was turned off to star wars books after reading the dissmal bounty hunter wars books. OMFG those were horrible!
The one book, forget the name,I think it was shadows of the empire, with Prince Xior(?) was rather good though. To bad the hero died at the end. (Took place between the events in Empire and Jedi)

Yeah, that rocked! I know which one you mean. The Thrawn Trillogy ain't bad either.
Apparently Shatterpoint which is based on Mace Windu is quite good as well, according to several friends.

I've read quite a few, including the Jedi Academy books. Light jedi have a strict pacifist nature. They would give out defensive bonuses, as well as increase happiness and generally grease the wheels of galactic civilization to give resource extraction modifiers. Dark jedi are offensive, and should give offensive bonuses. People's happiness would be reduced near them. However, people fear them more, and dark jedi should give more resource bonuses than light jedi.

I've decided to drop the idea of "researching" relationships with different corporations for the use of their ship hulls. It's just too time-consuming to mod, and whoever plays the mod will just be confused by it.
The Tech Areas will be very general.
