				 Re: OT: Good Shows on TV..
  In no particular order: LostLaw and OrderBuffy the Vampire Slayer(it was a good clever show, had humor, horror, action, and drama)King of the Hill(one big Texas in joke)Most of the stuff on the cartoon network after 10:00 Central, the whole damn AS block kicks ***.Conan O'BrienScrubs(this is the funniest show on TV, it's better then friends ever was)farscape, no longer shown even on reruns here but kicked ***

That's all I can think of at the moment, but that seems like just about everything..... Oh yeah, Cops and America's Most Wanted, both those shows kick ***. |

				 Re: OT: Good Shows on TV..
 I just thought of two other shows I enjoy watching.. Numbers and NICS.
.. and I'm talking about shows that are on now, not stuff playing in reruns.

Cheers!   |

				 Re: OT: Good Shows on TV..
 Well, I don't have a TV, and I don't bother watching anything on the sets I have access to... I came to the conclusion a while ago that signal-to-noise on American TV is waaay too high, so I rely on other people to figure out what stuff is actually good, then I get copies somehow. I've bought the DVDs for "The Office" (BBC version, I've already heard the NBC knock-off is rubish), one of my friends has convinced me to go to the library to watch "24" ("It's better than crack!" he says). I borrow the DVDs for "Family Guy" fairly often too. Kind of old, but I've also... stumbled upon... digital copies of "Red Dwarf". Funny show I'm looking into buying the DVDs for Babylon 5, Farscape, SG-1, Scrubs, and Chapelle's Show, since I've either watched and enjoyed them, or have heard very good things about them.

Basically, the last time I sought out something to watch on TV was the Orange Bowl this year (January 4th). If I happen to be around other people who are watching TV, I might pay attention. Usually that's "The Daily Show" or Conan O'Brian though. The only other show that's watched regularly around here is "Friends". If that's on, I make a point of leaving the room, never could stand that show.

I'll have to look into some of the shows in this thread. I'll wait for more opinions to accumulate first, though

				 Re: OT: Good Shows on TV..
 Well here's my list:
 Andromeda: (Season 1 and 2 and part of 3 before they fired Wolfe so they could dumb it down easily)

 Farscape: Excellent Sci Fi show with great cast and it actually succeeded in pulling off the humor without making it look forced.

 SG-1: Nuf's been said about this already.

 Some Discovery shows: Most of it isn't even learning anymore it's just crap

 Most of History: Great show!

				 Re: OT: Good Shows on TV..
 Just the other day (on an in-flight tv thing) I doscovered Samurai Jack. Ostensibly a kids animation, it actually has a very adult pace and mythology to it. Will be looking at getting me some more of that. |

 Genndy Tartakovski, who made Samurai Jack (and I would have picked it if it was still on here) was chosen to make Clone Wars. Bit of Trivia, Aku is actually Japanese for evil. |

				 Re: OT: Good Shows on TV..
 The shows i´m watching nowadays:
 - Battlestar Galatica (i simply love this show and have all the episodes of the first season + the miniseries taped.... can´t wait for the second season);
 - Farscape (i´m still in the 3rd episode of the 4th season, but i´m noticing that the series started to lost some steam after the third season);
 - Andromeda (i´m still at the beginning of the 4th season, and in this series too i´m noticing that the plots are getting more confuse em boring, but up to the third season the show is one of the best space operas around).
 - Smallville (just watched the "Blank" episode of the 4th season and think this is one of the best series around, in my personal ratings it takes second place after BSG)

 Shows i started watching and found boring/stupid/not my style and stoped:

 - Stargate SG1 - just wathed the first 3 episodes of the firsts season and simply could not stand the translation thing: how everyond in all planets speak english? without any kind of Universal translator or another excuse?

 - Stargate Atlantis - same of the above.

 - Lost - watched the first six episodes and, while somewhat fun, the show is simply not my style...

 Shows i´m plannig to watch:

 - Firefly - everyone is talking about this show and i´m curious to watch it, but i´m a little confused with the episode order... how is the best order for watchiong the episodes? And is best to watch the movie before the series or vice-versa?
